Thank You For the Love

Hello everyone with Yay 4 Life, I want to thank you for all that you do and the love that you all deposit into people that are going through cancer. The gift bag/items included, love, caring and gift card all is very warm and hopeful to keep moving! Cancer is a hurdle but God blesses us with strength and motivation to carry on! It has been a blessing to meet you and your grandmother. Keep helping loving and believing….see you at the crawfish boil! Maybe then I will have a head full of hair. lol ~ Recipient 2015

A dear friend of ours has showed us your organization and I am Blessed to know and be a part of your organization. Yay 4 Life! Fund helps with Parking

It is our honor to share with you a few examples of the profound impact of the Yay 4 Life! Cancer Patient Assistance Fund:

Mr. M.M. is a young man in his late twenties who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2013. He has been treated several times at Houston Methodist and eventually had a stem cell transplant in 2014. Given that his donor was his brother, Mr. M.M. was not eligible for some of the transplant financial assistance programs available. Mr. M.M.’s family was able to use a grant from Yay 4 Life! to pay for parking for appointments.

The list of people who benefit from the support from Yay 4 Life! is far greater than the example provided above. Each patient has a unique story and experiences individual hardships, but all are positively impacted by the giving support of Yay 4 Life! Please accept our profound thank you for choosing to help patients and their families in such a significant manner.

With my thanks and best wishes, C. Del Paggio, Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation

Yay 4 Life! Fund Helps Patient with Co-pays

It is our honor to share with you a few examples of the profound impact of the Yay 4 Life! Cancer Patient Assistance Fund:

Ms. TD is a young woman in her early forties who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in 2012. She underwent a stem cell transplant in 2013, which unfortunately failed, and has been receiving treatment for AML since late 2013. Ms. TD has two teenage daughters and is struggling to pay for medications, rent, etc. The Yay 4 Life! grant helped her to pay for her medication co-pays.

Mr. JC is a young man in his early thirties who is currently hospitalized for a stem cell transplant (July, 2014). He is from El Paso and his wife is unable to work. A Yay 4 Life! grant has assisted Mr. JC’s wife to pay for food in the cafeteria.

Stories can help a lot!

My name is M.W. and I am a young adult leukemia patient currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant on Main 8 at Methodist Hospital. This afternoon, the social worker dropped by my room to drop off a gift card that could be used for miscellaneous expenses (food, parking, etc.). I asked a little about where the gift came from and she directed me to the Yay 4 Life website and your family and foundation’s story.

I just wanted to send a simple message expressing thank you; The “Inspiration” page really hit a lot of themes I’ve felt and currently feel at the hospital and it was comforting to read someone who could touch on all those emotions/experiences on the head. I am truly grateful.

So truly, thank you for this kindness,

and Merry Christmas! M.W.

We have served a Polk County Sherriff Deputy, young 30-year-old male with three children (fourth on way – any day now) with leukemia and has just undergone a bone marrow transplant.  He was so grateful for the Care Bag because he will be out of work approximately 6 to 9 months.
