The Jeff “Howie” Howison Technical Lighting Scholarship was established in 2012 to honor a student or students whom have participated in the FHS musical and selected by the directors as having demonstrated outstanding work in the area of lighting for two or more years. Meghan Rutledge was the first recipient of the scholarship. She worked as Spot Light, Lighting Head, Head Sound and Stage Manager over 4 FHS musicals.

Yay 4 Life! has also provided funds for other educational needs in Friendswood Independent School District. Yay 4 Life! was able to donate $3,000 to Friendswood High School from the 2012 fundraising efforts. Because the scholarship was fully funded and there was not an eligible student for the 2013 scholarship, the donation is going to purchase some much needed lights for the FHS Theater.
